Monthly RP?

How many role players do we have in here? Do we want to do a monthly RP post?
Each month would have a new theme. I suppose people would be welcome to continue prior threads. ERP would be separate, if at all. These days that seems a bit more of a headache than I feel like dealing with but, we'll see.

You guys solicit ideas for settings.

Would you want a new character or new version/chapter of a character each month?
Is monthly too short, would quarterly be a better pace for stories?

I think it's important that we keep it dark/alt/witchy/gothy. Something different than the multitude of RP Communities out there.

I thought it would be fun to make a list of weird vegetables you can grow. Watch for odd vegetables in garden catalogs, nurseries, and home/garden stores. Depending on the type you may find seeds, young plants, roots, etc. Enjoy having friends say, "What the fuck is that?" when they see your garden!

The apocalypse
doesn't come all at once.

It comes one step at a time:

the bit of plastic trash that
makes its way to the ocean and
kills a hundred-year-old sea turtle,

the factory belching carbon into the air
as an invisible blanket smothering the sky,

the campfire improperly extinguished
that spreads to become a wildfire.

Every poor choice that people make
is an apocalypse in miniature.

Corpse Roads and Coffin Stones

Corpse roads are paths over which one carries a coffin to its final resting place. Like crossroads, corpse roads are physical places with metaphysical properties, according to folklore. Such pathways are found all over the world, but the origin of corpse roads in Great Britain is a little more political than you might expect.

The post also includes prompts for stories set in such places. I agree that it is an unparalleled location for family drama, but that is not my best topic.

Pumpkins, squash, and gourds come in many varieties and the "winter" types are ripening now. These typically have thick rind and long storage potential. There are sweet and savory cultivars in a huge range of sizes, shapes, and colors. There are also all kinds of gnarly ones for fall decor. Watch for them at farmer's markets or grocery stores. In particular, if you enjoy a squash that you buy, you can save its seeds, or note its cultivar to buy seeds, and try to grow them in spring.

This is why some people hate interruptions and find it hard to switch from one activity to another. It includes people with ADHD, autism, executive function disorder, post-concussion-syndrome, other cognitive issues; many introverts; and most people who spend a lot of time doing things they are bad at (e.g. a linguistically inclined person doing math, or an athletic person forced to write text). Discuss with the people in your life what kinds of interruptions are okay or not, when, and how.
